Welcome to the newly renovated Ballroom at the KU Memorial Union! The 11,000 SF remodel was executed around 50 days from construction start to finish, and what a transformation! Congratulations to our partners at the KU Memorial Union and MarLan Construction on a job well done.
The Chancellor’s residence is getting ready for the holidays. As in the past three years, Sabatini Architects was asked to plan and procure holiday décor for the interior and exterior of the residence. The refined décor will include lighted evergreen garland around the porch railings and exterior columns, evergreen wreaths, garland along the main interior staircase, floral, hearth and table arrangements and of course, a Christmas tree with all the trimmings. Decorations were installed first of December, just in time for the holiday season.
After a successful bid process, preparations have started to revamp the entry for KU’s largest dining hall, Mrs. E’s Dining Commons. Bruner Contracting of Kansas City will be heading up the construction team. With the dorms closed for the holiday break, windows and concrete floors will be removed and Mrs. E’s will have a new aluminum entry canopy complete with custom Jayhawk perforated signage by A. Zahner Company.
Mar Lan Construction was awarded the project. Construction is off to a fast start on this fast track construction schedule to have all work complete by the end of January. With demolition and framing completed in a matter of a few days the project is on track to finish on schedule.
Design continues for the facelift of the flagship bookstore at the KU Memorial Union.
