University of Kansas Fraser Hall Laboratory Study & Design

The Lab of Biological Anthropology was founded in 1975 as a research center of the Graduate School and the Research Sector of the University of Kansas. Since its inception in 1975, the LBA has supported graduate and undergraduate students in their theses and Ph.D. dissertation research. Many of the graduates from the LBA have gone on to distinguished careers in biological anthropology, human genetics, and genetic epidemiology.

As part of its on-call contract with KU, Sabatini is providing design services for lab renovations to convert an existing computer classroom into a biological anthropology lab including clean room facilities. A three-chamber isolation lab is being designed to meet the International Standards Organization levels 6 and 7. The lab space will be used for ancient DNA research. Sabatini is currently working with the university to explore design options for the project.
